What features are important for airport messaging systems?

Airport messaging is often complex and challenging, using multiple formats and protocols to handle different messaging capabilities. Airport messaging systems, when they rely on human interactivity, can be subject to several vulnerabilities:

  • Typing errors
  • Inefficient manual data entry
  • Incompatibility with some messaging protocols, requiring modification
  • Disparate data
  • Encoding challenges

A-MDS has been developed to accept any type of message format, whether fixed, variable or contextual, from any source and is easy to configure in a system based on standards. The structure of interpreted messaging can be made available in XML-based language and, depending upon the type and contents of the source message, the system can handle re-encoding automatically.

When airport messaging systems can be fully integrated, flexibility and security within a master system can be easily achieved. A-MDS provides a secure method of integration with applications such as A-ODB, and can provide all the communications protocols features and functions required to exchange data compliantly, efficiently and securely.
